Rococo Pop

  • Streaming + Download

Includes high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more. Paying supporters also get unlimited streaming via the free Bandcamp app.

‘Rococo Pop’ by Wow Federation is the original, vital, post-Punk pop record from 1982 that never got released. Instead the tapes lay in a cardboard box in Nick Horton’s (drummer) attic in Weymouth. Paul Conneally (original vocalist 78’ to 79’) decided to release it on New Reality Records. Made in an Oxford of the colleges and the Oxford of Blackbird Lees housing estate. The Wows played to both audiences but fitted in with neither. It’s a pop that ranges from breezy to manic. Trying in a rough way to grab onto disco hooks and folk and pop melodies but keeping the shattered feel of punk. A young music that brews it’s own vibe, dressed-up in the hand me downs of ragged fops.
The tracks are downloadable from Bandcamp along with T shirts and cassettes
